Presidents’ Day is not only about a three day weekend or getting the best shopping deals. There’s a lot more meaning to this holiday that is often overlooked. What is the real purpose of Presidents’ Day? It was originally created to celebrate George Washington’s birthday and was later changed to include Lincoln’s birthday. Today, many Americans view it as a day to honor all of the U.S. presidents, particularly Washington and Lincoln.
