Director of Database Management

A leading finance and accounting software and services firm located in downtown D.C. has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Director of Database Management.

Description

Develop, analyze, administer, test and implement SQL Server databases and the backup strategies for the databases; create and performance tune stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions/views & query optimization; analyze & convert old DTS packages to SSIS packages; automate database jobs; review & manage database system performance, capacity, planning & maintenance; design software to automate accounts payable functions; create database maintenance plans to perform  and monitor regular backup jobs; analyze & build new physical servers for the purpose of development or production; design hardware architecture of the database servers; analyze alert system for failure notification deriving from the database servers; and transfer & train users on the database.

Requirements
SSIS, SSRS, SSAS,  SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, C, C++, UNIX Shell Scripting & HTML, SharePoint, VB Script, PowerShell, etc...MS deg in Comp Sci/Eng or a related technical discipline + 2 yrs of related exp. in field required
